Committees
ASHRAE Illinois Chapter has many different committees, and we are always looking for volunteers and helps to the each committees. Joining the committee is one of the best ways to be involved in ASHRAE Illinois!
Chapter Technical Transfer Committee (CTTC)
- Largest chapter committee with over a dozen members and two official subcommittees
- Disseminates technical knowledge through seminars, meetings and tours
- Administers the Chapter Engineering Excellence Awards for local projects
Attendance & Reception Committee
- Our goal is to make a good first impression
- Check folks in and collect their money
- Act as a customer service team during the meeting, fielding general questions and getting you in contact with the right person
Membership Promotion Committee
- Attract and Welcome New Members to ASHRAE
- Promote Grade Advancement
- Reduce Resignations / Delinquencies
- Sign-up Chapter Members
- Distribute Certificates for Honors & Awards Banquet
Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) Committee
- Plan and Organize activities that draw and maintain our non-student members below the age of 35
- Ehance our member benefits for young professional ASHRAE members by identifying activities and services focused on their needs.
Honors & Awards Committee
- Promote the recognition of outstanding members within the Chapter, Society and the Community
- Submit members for honors and awards given by ASHRAE
- Consider Chapter, Regional and Society-level awards, including ASHRAE Fellow and Honorary Membership
History Committee
- Tracks, records, and explores chapter history
- Prepares display for CRC (chapter regional conference) and annual meeting (Chicago, Jan 21-25, 2012)
- Many other Ongoing works such as Interviews of key and long-time members

- Encourages and supports student engineering organizations/events (student branches, science fairs, E-week)
- Participate in Career Fair programs; judging for Science Fairs in Public and Non-Public schools
- Supporting Regional/National Student Activities at the upcoming CRC and meeting in Chicago

- Coordinates Chapter’s fundraising for the Society sponsored research projects
- To help Society conduct research projects
- Every donated $ is spent on research. A list of current projects is available on ashrae.org/research page
- ILLINOIS CHAPTER FOR 2012-2013 CAMPAIGN GOAL IS: $31,000.00
Student Scholarship Committee
- Administers the Illinois Chapter Scholarship Awards
- Organizes a committee to review and judge the applications
- Awards are presented as part of a monthly meeting
