Meeting/Event Information

Illinois Chapter usually meets once each month, August through June, on Tuesdays. The Chapter’s annual golf outing and fund raiser always takes place in September. Generally 70 to 80 members gather at monthly meetings, which makes them an excellent networking opportunity for members interested in meeting and developing other contacts in the industry.

The State of Illinois requires professional engineers to complete 30 PDHs (Professional Development Hours) of training for license renewal. The Illinois Chapter ASHRAE offers educational programs with more than enough PDHs to help engineers satisfy this requirement.

Presentations from previous Chapter seminars and meetings may be downloaded after logging into the "Member Area." The Illinois Chapter of ASHRAE stores past presentations. You must be a member to access them from this website. If you are not yet a member, sign-up today or contact us for more information.

For this month's membership meeting we'll be returning to Kaiser Tiger, west of the Loop on Randolph St. near the Ogden Ave. intersection. Enjoy great food and refreshments while you gain an update on Chicago's Benchmarking recent progress and results. The City of Chicago has committed to the goal of the Paris Agreement, which includes a 26-28% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2025, and many of those reductions will come from continuing efficiencies in building energy use. Come hear more about the city's strategies, including results from the 2017 Energy Benchmarking Report, updates from the Retrofit Chicago Energy Challenge, and details of the new Chicago Energy Rating System.

The meeting presentation will be conducted by Amy Jewel, LEED AP O+M, Senior City Advisor, City Energy Project, Chicago. In her role in the City Energy Project/ Institute for Market Transformation (IMT), Amy is the Chicago City Advisor. She partners closely with the Chicago Office of the Mayor to develop new strategies and approaches to advance energy efficiency efforts. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Columbia University and a Master’s of Environmental Science and Management from the Bren School at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

The technical program will qualify for 1 - 2 PDHs. We hope to see you there. Register today.
