Meeting/Event Information

Illinois Chapter usually meets once each month, August through June, on Tuesdays. The Chapter’s annual golf outing and fund raiser always takes place in September. Generally 70 to 80 members gather at monthly meetings, which makes them an excellent networking opportunity for members interested in meeting and developing other contacts in the industry.

The State of Illinois requires professional engineers to complete 30 PDHs (Professional Development Hours) of training for license renewal. The Illinois Chapter ASHRAE offers educational programs with more than enough PDHs to help engineers satisfy this requirement.

Presentations from previous Chapter seminars and meetings may be downloaded after logging into the "Member Area." The Illinois Chapter of ASHRAE stores past presentations. You must be a member to access them from this website. If you are not yet a member, sign-up today or contact us for more information.

We are excited to have Michael Moxon, P.E., Balancing Systems Specialist with Victaulic, as the presenter at our Oct. 8 monthly meeting. Michael has served in a number of capacities in the HVAC industry during the last 15 years. At Victaulic, he was an engineering specialist and expert in piping and balancing systems in the Chicago area for two years before relocating to China where for the next three years he helped Victaulic to penetrate the Asian market. Mike is a past Illinois Chapter board member and served as treasurer (2005-06) before heading overseas. After China, he moved to Japan where he helped set up and manage Victaulic's business in that country. Mike has since returned to the U.S., where his efforts are now focused on complex balancing systems in the state of Michigan.

In a separate, mini-presentation, Chris Reilly, Outreach Associate with Resource Solutions Group, will briefly explain ComEd's rebates available for computer power management. This largely unknown program utilizes power management solutions on networked desktops that can save companies hundreds of dollars per year in operating costs without interfering with normal user or administrator operations.

Our October 8 meeting will follow a little different format, beginning with social networking and dinner, from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by the education program. The presentation will qualify for 1.5 PDHs.

Please preregister for this event, if you would like to attend. A $5.00 surcharge will be added for walk-on registrations (without reservation) on the day of the event. Addiitionally, refunds are available only for cancellations made at least three business days before the meeting date.
