Illinois Chapter usually meets once each month, August through June, on Tuesdays. The Chapter’s annual golf outing and fund raiser always takes place in September. Generally 70 to 80 members gather at monthly meetings, which makes them an excellent networking opportunity for members interested in meeting and developing other contacts in the industry.
The State of Illinois requires professional engineers to complete 30 PDHs (Professional Development Hours) of training for license renewal. The Illinois Chapter ASHRAE offers educational programs with more than enough PDHs to help engineers satisfy this requirement.
Presentations from previous Chapter seminars and meetings may be downloaded after logging into the "Member Area." The Illinois Chapter of ASHRAE stores past presentations. You must be a member to access them from this website. If you are not yet a member, sign-up today or contact us for more information.

Spend a couple hours on Feb. 9 with fellow ASHRAE members and hear all about Data Center HVAC Design and Operation. Two knowledgeable presenters will be on hand to explore our topic from mixed points of view.
Don Beaty, P.E., founder of DLB Associates Consulting Engineers in 1980, is a licensed professional engineer in over 40 states and internationally. Don co-founded ASHRAE Technical Committee TC 9.9 and served as its first chair. He also has served on ANSI / ASHRAE Standards Committee 90.1 (energy), Standards Committee 127 (Method for Testing for Rating Computer and Data Processing Room Unitary Air-Conditioners), and ASHRAE TC 7.6 (Systems Energy Utilization). Don has been a major contributor to several data center books. He is an ASHRAE Fellow and the 2012 recipient of the ASHRAE George B. Hightower Technical Achievement Award.
A second presenter will speak about the upkeep needs of a data center (co-location). This will be a representative of Digital Realty, which provides the combination of a data center ecosystem business with a colocation services provider in a seamless, interconnected global network. The technical presentations should earn attendees up to 2 PDHs.
We hope we'll see you on Feb. 9 for our social hour, dinner and presentations. Please register online in advance. For information, call the Illinois Chapter office at 708-636-5819.
