Illinois Chapter usually meets once each month, August through June, on Tuesdays. The Chapter’s annual golf outing and fund raiser always takes place in September. Generally 70 to 80 members gather at monthly meetings, which makes them an excellent networking opportunity for members interested in meeting and developing other contacts in the industry.
The State of Illinois requires professional engineers to complete 30 PDHs (Professional Development Hours) of training for license renewal. The Illinois Chapter ASHRAE offers educational programs with more than enough PDHs to help engineers satisfy this requirement.
Presentations from previous Chapter seminars and meetings may be downloaded after logging into the "Member Area." The Illinois Chapter of ASHRAE stores past presentations. You must be a member to access them from this website. If you are not yet a member, sign-up today or contact us for more information.

Illinois Chapter members and friends are invited back to the Park Tavern, Jackson Blvd. & Ashland Ave. (near the United Center), for our next monthly dinner meeting. The meeting gets underway at 5:30 p.m. for cocktails and a social hour followed by a buffet dinner.
We are planning an informative presentation during the evening about ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1-2013, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings. Three architects and engineers will share their insights on several key aspects of this important standard.
Adam St. Cyr, DLR Group, has delivered multiple projects for the Chicago Building Commission including Fire Engine #16, which is the first LEED Platinum firehouse in Illinois. He was a key member of the design team for the LEED Gold Fire Engine #109, a sustainable prototype that implements a modern design for living quarters and advanced training options.
Susan Martig, Environmental Systems Design, is the lighting controls and electrical energy code specialist at ESD. Her experience and expertise extends over multiple facility types and lighting control solutions, including addressable controls, networked and standalone controls, daylighting, and dimming options.
Sachin Anand, principal, dbHMS, brings over 15 years of diversified design, commissioning, and management experience to the field of engineering, uniting artistry and analytics into a unique approach based upon each client’s needs. He believes that structure, building site, lighting systems, HVAC systems, indoor environment and the end use of a building should be viewed as an integrated organic system.
The education program will qualify for PDHs. Also during the evening, we'll introduce everyone to four college students who are recipients of this year's Illinois Chapter Scholarships. Each of these top competitors will be presented their award at the meeting.
Everyone is invited. Please preregister online soon.
