Illinois Chapter usually meets once each month, August through June, on Tuesdays. The Chapter’s annual golf outing and fund raiser always takes place in September. Generally 70 to 80 members gather at monthly meetings, which makes them an excellent networking opportunity for members interested in meeting and developing other contacts in the industry.
The State of Illinois requires professional engineers to complete 30 PDHs (Professional Development Hours) of training for license renewal. The Illinois Chapter ASHRAE offers educational programs with more than enough PDHs to help engineers satisfy this requirement.
Presentations from previous Chapter seminars and meetings may be downloaded after logging into the "Member Area." The Illinois Chapter of ASHRAE stores past presentations. You must be a member to access them from this website. If you are not yet a member, sign-up today or contact us for more information.

Many building owners and operators face issues associated with their existing building control systems. They might include outdated or obsolete technology, limitations of older systems, multiple disparate control systems, and concerns related to expansion or renovation plans. These issues lead to underutilization of the control system, robbing users of the opportunity to maximize their investment in their automation technology.
The January meeting presentation will explore ways a Building Automation System Master Plan can prepare for future technological advancements and enable today’s facility managers to harness the power of their building systems, to better utilize energy and to increase energy efficiency, reduce utility costs and improve occupant comfort.
Our presenter, Jim Vallort, will discuss how to improve the efficiency of building systems with the ultimate goal of reducing utility and energy costs. Jim will join us as one of ASHRAE’s Distinguished Lecturers.
Jim Vallort is a Senior Vice President with ESD in Chicago. He is a past president of the Illinois Chapter. At the international level, Jim has served on ASHRAE Society's board of directors and as director-at-large, Region VI director and regional chair. He continues to serve also on several ASHRAE committees.
