Illinois Chapter usually meets once each month, August through June, on Tuesdays. The Chapter’s annual golf outing and fund raiser always takes place in September. Generally 70 to 80 members gather at monthly meetings, which makes them an excellent networking opportunity for members interested in meeting and developing other contacts in the industry.
The State of Illinois requires professional engineers to complete 30 PDHs (Professional Development Hours) of training for license renewal. The Illinois Chapter ASHRAE offers educational programs with more than enough PDHs to help engineers satisfy this requirement.
Presentations from previous Chapter seminars and meetings may be downloaded after logging into the "Member Area." The Illinois Chapter of ASHRAE stores past presentations. You must be a member to access them from this website. If you are not yet a member, sign-up today or contact us for more information.

Included:
- Flexible, open concept for the Manufacturing Research area due to UI Labs’ mission
- Open communication between Research area and Office Space
- Research Area as a “Showcase”
- IAQ concerns and approaches with Waste Management facility next door (air cleaners)
- Central Compressed Air System
- In Rack Cooling in MDF
- Temp/Humidity controlled Metrology research area
- Busbar system for equipment power
- LEED certification.
UI LABS, on Chicago's north side, offers problem solvers a collaboration platform that brings universities together with industries to define problems, design partnerships and deliver solutions. The goal is to find new ways to impove product development. The ideas born in the Chicago facility are applied in projects across the country. At UI Labs, "We design collaborative experiences to shape the future of industries where the problems are too big for any one company to solve on its own." For more information.
Space will be limited for this afternoon one-hour tour, and we expect it to fill up. Sign up online soon! (Don't forget the April 11 monthly meeting, dedicated to lab air system design.)
