Meeting/Event Information

Illinois Chapter usually meets once each month, August through June, on Tuesdays. The Chapter’s annual golf outing and fund raiser always takes place in September. Generally 70 to 80 members gather at monthly meetings, which makes them an excellent networking opportunity for members interested in meeting and developing other contacts in the industry.

The State of Illinois requires professional engineers to complete 30 PDHs (Professional Development Hours) of training for license renewal. The Illinois Chapter ASHRAE offers educational programs with more than enough PDHs to help engineers satisfy this requirement.

Presentations from previous Chapter seminars and meetings may be downloaded after logging into the "Member Area." The Illinois Chapter of ASHRAE stores past presentations. You must be a member to access them from this website. If you are not yet a member, sign-up today or contact us for more information.

Have you ever looked at an electric bill from your home, business, hospital, or school and wondered what all the different charges were for? Have you looked at that same bill and also wondered if there were ways you could decrease your cost? Get to the November ASHRAE meeting to hear from some of the best in the business when it comes to electricity rates and understanding your bills. We will discuss load shifting, demand response, rebates, and other items that will give you a deep dive understanding of your electric bills. Please join us for what is sure to be a great meeting with ideas for improving your next projects and also your home.

Our three presenters on Nov. 14 are:

John Leick, Principal Rate Administrator, ComEd, since 1990 has held past positions in ComEd’s Large Customer Services and New Business Engineering departments. He currently works in the Retail Rates department, which determines and administers tariffs to recover ComEd’s operating costs and sets policies for delivering electric service in northern Illinois.

Rick Tonielli, Senior Efficiency Program Manager, ComEd, directs the ComEd Retro-Commissioning and Monitoring-Based Commissioning Programs and oversees marketing and outreach to the commercial real estate market.
