Meeting/Event Information

Illinois Chapter usually meets once each month, August through June, on Tuesdays. The Chapter’s annual golf outing and fund raiser always takes place in September. Generally 70 to 80 members gather at monthly meetings, which makes them an excellent networking opportunity for members interested in meeting and developing other contacts in the industry.

The State of Illinois requires professional engineers to complete 30 PDHs (Professional Development Hours) of training for license renewal. The Illinois Chapter ASHRAE offers educational programs with more than enough PDHs to help engineers satisfy this requirement.

Presentations from previous Chapter seminars and meetings may be downloaded after logging into the "Member Area." The Illinois Chapter of ASHRAE stores past presentations. Our next membership meeting, November 13, 5:30 - 8 p.m., will offer steps for achieving compliance with ANSI-ASHRAE Standard 188 and present other Legionnaires' Disease prevention and risk management guidance. Increase your understanding of control and disinfection options, along with validation and verification strategies (1.5 - 2 PDH).

Our presenter will be Jay Reading, Vice President and Co-Founder, Phigenics, LLC, water management and safety consultants. Jay has extensive water management experience in HVAC, process cooling, and steam generation systems. With Phigenics, Jay specializes in helping customers develop and implement comprehensive and compliant, defensible water management programs, prevent disease and injury from Legionella and other pathogens, improve water and energy efficiency, and optimize the total cost of water systems. Jay holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington.

We are excited to host the November meeting in a new location and happy to carry the Octoberfest spirit a little further. We hope you are too and will join us at Hofbrauhaus!

Driving: Hofbrauhaus is located near the Balmoral Ave. exit ramp off the Tri-State Tollway (I-294). Use the indoor/covered lot for parking. Bring your stub and present it at the front desk for validation to obtain free parking.

Public Transportation: The Rosemont Blue Line station is a short walk to Hofbrauhaus. Additionally, the 811 PACE Bus runs from the Blue Line station to Five Roses Pub (across the street from Hofbrauhaus).
