Meeting/Event Information

Illinois Chapter usually meets once each month, August through June, on Tuesdays. The Chapter’s annual golf outing and fund raiser always takes place in September. Generally 70 to 80 members gather at monthly meetings, which makes them an excellent networking opportunity for members interested in meeting and developing other contacts in the industry.

The State of Illinois requires professional engineers to complete 30 PDHs (Professional Development Hours) of training for license renewal. The Illinois Chapter ASHRAE offers educational programs with more than enough PDHs to help engineers satisfy this requirement.

Presentations from previous Chapter seminars and meetings may be downloaded after logging into the "Member Area." The Illinois Chapter of ASHRAE stores past presentations. You must be a member to access them from this website. If you are not yet a member, sign-up today or contact us for more information.

Join us at Bub City in Rosemont (for the first time) for our next monthly meeting. We are planning a very informative, fun evening for everyone -- and let's not forget that Tuesday is our STUDENT NIGHT. Four students in the room will be introduced and recognized for their outstanding scholastic achievement, as recipients of Illinois ASHRAE Scholarships. Come and meet them!

Hear an interesting presentation about the "Active Capture and Control of Micro-particles and Pathogens." This session will review the public health, clinical, and financial implications of (indoor and outdoor) particulate air pollution. We will specifically examine the impact of ultra-small particles < PM 0.5 on respiratory illness and their contribution to dementia and Alzheimer?s disease. We will review various methods that can be used to mitigate the healthcare risks of particulate pollution and discuss possible applications in the industrial, commercial, residential, and healthcare space.

Our guest speaker will be Mark H. Ereth, MD, MA, Emeritus Professor of Anesthesiology, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. Dr. Ereth, a physician, scientist, inventor and social entrepreneur, has completed research applying artificial intelligence to further detection methods and treatment of diseases, which has led to patents for a variety of medical treatment techniques. His lecture work is paralleled by extensive articles published in peer-reviewed journals.
