Meeting/Event Information

Illinois Chapter usually meets once each month, August through June, on Tuesdays. The Chapter’s annual golf outing and fund raiser always takes place in September. Generally 70 to 80 members gather at monthly meetings, which makes them an excellent networking opportunity for members interested in meeting and developing other contacts in the industry.

The State of Illinois requires professional engineers to complete 30 PDHs (Professional Development Hours) of training for license renewal. The Illinois Chapter ASHRAE offers educational programs with more than enough PDHs to help engineers satisfy this requirement.

Presentations from previous Chapter seminars and meetings may be downloaded after logging into the "Member Area." The Illinois Chapter of ASHRAE stores past presentations. You must be a member to access them from this website. If you are not yet a member, sign-up today or contact us for more information.

Join us at Rock Bottom for our monthly meeting. We are excited to host a Business and Development/Developer panel-style presentation with local industry professionals. Are you interested in a developer's perspective on where the Chicago market is headed? Or how engineers can help in the early development process? What can all of us do to better align developer expectations with engineering designs and deliverables and best work together to make a feasible, value-worthy project? Joe Clair will moderate as we discuss these topics with our panelists:

Joe Clair P.E., Practice Lead, dbHMS, works with clients to create transformative change in their relationship with energy creating financial value for clients while minimizing or eliminating the negative impact energy use has on their stakeholders. Mr. Claire received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Marty Paris, President, Sedgwick Properties, has been actively involved in real estate investment and development in Chicago for over 20 years. Establishing Sedgwick in 1996, Marty has led its successful expansion into a full-service development, design, and construction company. Through Marty’s guidance on several large-scale residential and commercial projects, Sedgwick has emerged as one of Chicago’s premier development companies. He is a graduate of Drake University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with an emphasis in Finance.

Peter Siegal AIA, LEED AP, Senior Vice President and Director of Development Operations, Lendlease Development, Inc., is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the physical assets envisioned by the Chicago development group. This includes managing the program, design and construction of each project. Mr. Siegal brings over 40 years of architectural and construction experience to the design and construction of large, complex buildings including luxury high-rise residential, the rehabilitation of historic structures, office buildings, mixed-use developments, fitness centers, aviation facilities and tax-credit affordable-housing projects. Mr. Siegal has excellent knowledge of building codes and regulatory requirements. He also has a strong working relationship with construction management, trade, and design professional communities.

Frank Soldano, Vice President Design & Construction, Related Midwest, is Vice President of Architecture and Planning at Related Midwest and has served in both construction and architectural project management roles on adaptive reuse, historic preservation and new construction projects since joining Related Midwest 27 years ago. In his current role, Mr. Soldano is responsible for technical coordination and quality control across projects. He helps establish sustainability goals for all Related Midwest developments, overseeing the LEED certification process. He is licensed architect and LEED-accredited professional.
