Meeting/Event Information

Illinois Chapter usually meets once each month, August through June, on Tuesdays. The Chapter’s annual golf outing and fund raiser always takes place in September. Generally 70 to 80 members gather at monthly meetings, which makes them an excellent networking opportunity for members interested in meeting and developing other contacts in the industry.

The State of Illinois requires professional engineers to complete 30 PDHs (Professional Development Hours) of training for license renewal. The Illinois Chapter ASHRAE offers educational programs with more than enough PDHs to help engineers satisfy this requirement.

Presentations from previous Chapter seminars and meetings may be downloaded after logging into the "Member Area." The Illinois Chapter of ASHRAE stores past presentations. You must be a member to access them from this website. If you are not yet a member, sign-up today or contact us for more information.

On Tuesday, Jan. 8, the Illinois Chapter will offer presentations about healthcare reform changes and their impact on the design of hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Our afternoon seminar, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. (registration opens at 2:30 p.m.) will be conducted by York Chan, Administrator of Facilities for Advocate Health Care, a system of 12 acute care hospitals in Illinois. York has 32 years of experience managing health facilities operations. He currently serves as board member, American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) as well as the Healthcare Engineering Society of Northern Illinois (Local ASHE Chapter). He is a member of the Joint Commission’s Environment of Care Advisory Council and a regular presenter of education programs.

The 5:00 p.m. social hour and dinner afterwards will be followed by a second, shorter presentation. John Bouse, one of the founding principals of Gage Consulting Engineers, Inc. John will explain ASHRAE's Healthcare Facility Design Professional Certification and steps engineers should follow to earn it. He has 35 years of experience in engineering design and project management — at various levels of healthcare facilities and educational buildings, as well as municipal, commercial and industrial facilities. John is a member of ASHRAE and other professional societies, and is an ASHRAE-certified Healthcare Facility Design Professional (HFDP).

Both presentations will qualify for 3 Professional Development Hours (PDH).

The seminar and meeting cost is $40 for ASHRAE members and $50 for non-members, and includes dinner and one drink ticket. MAKE RESERVATIONS online OR call 708-636-3604.
